Uttar Pradesh News Today: A cabinet meeting was held at Lok Bhavan on Friday (22 November) under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During this period, out of total 24 proposals of different departments, 23 were approved. In the meeting, important decisions were taken regarding large-scale solar energy projects and transmission lines in the Bundelkhand region.
In this meeting, there is a plan to create new posts in the colleges of Uttar Pradesh. In this, there is a plan to fill 71 vacant principal posts in different colleges of the state. Similarly, approval has been given to create the posts of 1136 Assistant Principals and 710 Class IV employees.
Many other proposals have also been approved in this meeting held at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow. With the aim of making higher education easily available to all, approval was given to open a private university in Bijnor. This was being demanded for a long time.
800 MW solar plant in Chitrakoot
The Cabinet approved the establishment of 800 MW solar plant in Chitrakoot with the aim of promoting energy production in the Bundelkhand region. Currently work on 4000 MW solar energy projects is going on in Bundelkhand.
Transmission line for this project will be laid at a cost of Rs 620 crore. Of the total expenditure on the project, Rs 204.57 crore will be borne by the Central Government, Rs 291 crore by the German institution and Rs 123.98 crore by the Uttar Pradesh Government.
Mahakumbh will be organized in Prayagraj from 13 January to 26 February next year. The state government is leaving no stone unturned to make this Mahakumbh grand and divine. Under this, the cabinet approved the proposal to organize road shows in many countries for the promotion of Mahakumbh.
Road show for Mahakumbh
Under this, there is a plan to organize road shows for the promotion of Mahakumbh in New Delhi, Goa, Dehradun and Bhopal and Indore cities of Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, road shows will be held in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa, Patna, the capital of Bihar and Chandigarh, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Guwahati, Pune.
Similarly, a grand road show will be organized abroad for Mahakumbh 2025 connecting Indonesia and Mauritius. Apart from this, road shows will also be held in Nepal and Thailand. FICCI and CII will be partners during the road show of Mahakumbh.
An important decision has also been taken in the cabinet in view of the security of the Maha Kumbh Mela and the convenience of the devotees. Under this, Uttar Pradesh government will purchase 220 vehicles for Kumbh. Which includes 200 Bolero cars and 20. A total expenditure of Rs 27.48 crore will be incurred on this.
CGF fund approved for loan
Yogi government has decided to set up a ‘Guarantee Redemption Fund’ (CGF) of Rs 8170 crore for the loan of Rs 1 lakh 63 thousand 399.82 crore given to different departments. The government will deposit Rs 1634 crore in this fund every year. This fund will be given in case of default, which will provide financial relief to the concerned.
80 villages will be included in KDA
CM Yogi Adityanath In the meeting led by Kanpur, the urban area will be expanded by including 80 villages in Kanpur Development Authority (KDA). Under this, a budget of Rs 3000 crore has already been set.
This money will be given to 9 development authorities of the state as 50 percent grant for purchasing land, which will be used as seed capital. Lucknow will get Rs 1285 crore for urban development.
Many cities of UP have been included in the state government urban expansion. The beneficiary cities getting the extension include Saharanpur, Mathura, Vrindavan, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Lucknow, Moradabad, Khurja, Banda and Meerut.
Housing budget approved
Similarly, in the cabinet meeting, apart from three schemes, Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Council has got approval of Rs 937 crore for new residential schemes in Chandsarai, Kabirpur and Thikaria. This amount will expand residential facilities in urban areas and provide better housing options to local residents.
Green signal to Aqua Line metros
Yogi government has got the green signal for the 17.435 km long Aqua Metro Line project between Noida and Greater Noida. Rs 2951.60 crore will be spent on the Aqua Metro Line project and this metro will go from Knowledge Park to Sector-51. The central and state governments will jointly contribute Rs 394 crore to this project.

Nazul proposal postponed
The proposal related to Nazul has been postponed for the time being in the cabinet meeting. Nazul is land acquired by the government, which is used for public or urban development.
