11 tons of gold and 18000 crore cash… this is the richest Hindu temple in the world

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, the world’s richest temple trust, has deposited the highest ever amount of Rs 1161 crore this year as compared to the fixed deposits made by the trust in the last 12 years. At the same time, every year lakhs of devotees from all over the world come to this temple.

According to a Times of India report, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is perhaps the only Hindu religious trust in the country which has been growing rapidly by accumulating an amount of Rs 500 crore or more year after year in the last 12 years. Before this, in only three cases the offering to this temple was less than Rs 500 crore. As of 2012, TTD’s fixed deposits stood at Rs 4820 crore. At the same time, Tirupati Trust had deposited an amount of Rs 8467 crore between 2013 and 2024, which is perhaps the highest for any temple trust in the country.

The wealth of the temple is continuously increasing

The annual fixed deposits of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam since 2013 are as follows, which are Rs 608 crore in the year 2013, Rs 970 crore in 2014, Rs 961 crore in 2015, Rs 1153 crore in 2016, Rs 774 crore in 2017, Rs 501 crore in 2018. Crore, it has become Rs 285 crore in 2019, Rs 753 crore in 2020, Rs 270 crore in 2021, Rs 274 crore in 2022, Rs 757 crore in 2023 and Rs 1161 crore in 2024.

This was the first time that the fixed deposit amount of Tirupati Trust had fallen below Rs 500 crore. That too had reduced during the Corona epidemic in the years 2021 and 2022. Whereas, once before this also in 2019, this amount had reduced. However, by making FD of Rs 1161 crore this year, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust has left behind its highest fixed deposit of Rs 1153 crore made in the year 2017.

The trust earns so much money on interest in a year

According to TTD, the total FD deposited in banks has reached Rs 13287 crore, many trusts run by the temple trust including Sri Venkateswara Nitya Annaprasadam Trust, Sri Venkateswara Prandanam Trust etc. are receiving substantial donations from devotees. He has a fixed deposit of around Rs 5529 crore. Overall, by April 2024, Tirupati Trust’s cash in banks and its various trusts has reached Rs 18,817 crore, the highest ever in the history of TTD.

Annually, Tirupati Trust earns a huge amount of Rs 1600 crore as interest on its FDs. On the other hand, after recently depositing 1031 kg of gold by Tirupati Trust, now 11329 kg of gold of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust has also been deposited in the banks.
